Easy to back Marsali impresses on debut
Tough Slipper scores for Foley & Halford
She is as game and consistent as they come and I felt a reproduction of her Naas run would leave her hard to beat. There was no pace and Shane felt he had no choice but to sit in front. Banna Boirche won the race last year the same way and he had never made the running in his life before.
Photo Call gets the job done
The trip was a bit short but she got the job done and she will be chasing blacktype at some stage.
Phillips & Donnelly strike again at Fairyhouse
I knew when the ground picked up that she would like it. She has been running well around Dundalk and she will continue to mix it (between the turf and all-weather).
Blinkers do the trick on Emperor
The blinkers obviously did the trick. He won at Dundalk and I thought he would go on from there. He ran in an apprentice race the last day where there was no sticks and no headgear and that probably didn't suit.
Teemo another for Lyons & Keane
He is a gorgeous looking horse but he needs top of the ground. I was a bit suspect if he'd be man enough to take on the older brigade but the step up in trip and the fast ground suited him. He is again at Navan on Saturday in a 3yo only handicap and we will see how he comes out of this. They (Oratorio progeny) all seem to have grand temperament and all the ones I have seem to want good ground.
Foley doubles up as Lane comes from last
What can you say about him. He does it for me every year. The handicapper was hard on him when he won last year but he shouldn't be too hard on him for that. I don't care if he doesn't win again as he has been a great horse for me.
Teochrios gets off the mark on twelfth start
