Approaching the last hurdle, Clearly Capable (IRE), placed fourth, shifted right-handed, causing the winner, The Crooner (FR) to be briefly short of room on the rail, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Hugh Nugent, the rider of the winner, The Crooner (FR) was suspended for 4 days for using his whip above the permitted level from leaving the second last hurdle; being a 5lb conditional rider, Nugent was accompanied in the enquiry by a BHA Jockey Coach.
