The Raceday Stewards received a request from Gerard Hussey, representing Paul W. Flynn, trainer of Claddagh Princess, to substitute the nominated rider K.C. Sexton (injured) with B.P. Kennedy (7 Ibs claimer). Mr. Hussey stated that the requested rider was very familiar with the animal and has schooled it on numerous occasions
Having considered the request, the Raceday Stewards allowed the request under the provisions of Regulation 3
Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Paul W. Flynn was in breach of Rule 147(v) in that he had failed to lodge the appropriate authorisation form appointing an Authorised Representative and as a consequence, they issued a fine of €130 in his absence
The Raceday Stewards used their powers under Rule 90(v) to allow Hurricane Joey, trained by Charlie Keegan to run as the animal was identifiable, but had a slight discrepancy in the markings contained in the passport
Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards informed the trainer that he had 30 days to correct the discrepancy and that the animal would not be permitted to run until it was corrected to the satisfaction of an I.H.R.B. Veterinary Officer or their Assistant.
