An enquiry was held into the running and riding of KYLLACHY DRAGON (IRE), ridden by Jamie Gormley and trained by lain Jardine, which was considerately handled in second last place, before being asked for its effort approximately 2 ½ furlongs out, to finish third beaten by 3 ½ lengths. The rider was interviewed and shown recordings of the race and stated that his instructions were to sit in behind the runners, get the gelding settled and to make his effort approaching 2 ½ furlongs out, this being the gelding's first try at Imile 2 furlongs. He added that he was able to carry out his instructions, but was caught momentarily behind runners 4 furlongs out and didn't want to manoeuvre his mount to the outside and start racing too soon, being conscious that the gelding may not stay the trip. Having initially obtained a run on the rail, he then asked his mount for a substantial effort from 2 7 ½ furlongs out, but felt he had to pull his mount very wide to avoid weakening front runners. Being satisfied that KYLLACHY DRAGON (IRE) had obtained the best possible placing, Gormley's explanation was noted.
