Saffie Osborne, the rider of Alfredo (IRE), placed fifth, had appeared to drop her hands and stop riding shortly before the winning post.
Osborne was interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Having heard their evidence, Osborne was suspended for 4 days for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures to obtain the best possible placing on a horse that would have finished fourth.
