'Special' Atan lands a gamble
I said to Davy (Russell) before the race that this is a special horse. Davy said he won with a lot of ease. He might be going to the Doncaster Sale at the beginning of next month. He won so easily that he was looking around him near the finish. He's a lovely horse and he will be even better in a better race, they weren't going fast enough for him.
Leader does her bit for Honner
We're just delighted to get the win. She had some very good runs to her name. I walked the track and I thought it was good ground. Mark said we just about got away with it. I'm delighted for the syndicate who are mostly family. My sister is over from Switzerland and she's involved.
Close One gains maiden win
I think I have to thank the jockey for that one, he was very good on him. He stays well but he needed every bit of David's riding to get him up,.
Meade continues fine run
He ran well enough the last day at Kilbeggan but he just kept getting into trouble around there, getting blocked off a couple of times. The horses are just firing now. I don't know what we'll do with him now. I always felt he wasn't a bad horse, he just wanted a trip. They (Bose Ikard and Please Talk) both ran to their marks.
J P has a Fine double at Roscommon
The ground is obviously not too bad because he likes good ground. He has won for me now the last few years and he has been a good servant. There might be a race for him now in Killarney.
Big Pick 6 winners will never forget Anchor
I didn't have a shilling on him. I haven't had a run into him since last November, I knew he was fit but I had nothing for him all summer. Usually you'd need the run no matter how fit you'd have them at home. I thought he would run into a place at best. He might go to Kilbeggan now for a three mile race. He is eleven years of age so the ease in the ground probably helped him.
