An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final furlong involving Chiavari (IRE), placed second, ridden by Saffie Osborne, Sir Canford (IRE), placed third, ridden by Tom Marquand and King Charles (USA), placed fourth, ridden by David Probert.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Chiavari (IRE)’s placing as Sir Canford (IRE), lost little momentum when forced to move off its line and always appeared to be held, both prior to and after the incident.
Osborne was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as she allowed her mount to hang right- handed when insufficiently clear of Sir Canford (IRE) and King Charles (USA), causing interference to these two runners.
Following the race, Saffie Osborne reported that Chiavari (IRE), placed second, hung right-handed and Tom Marquand reported that Sir Canford (IRE), placed third, hung left-handed under pressure.
