The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr L.J. Murphy, rider of World Of Fortunes, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, Mr L.J. Murphy admitted that he had breached the whip guidelines and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that Mr L.J. Murphy had used his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Raceday Stewards suspended Mr L.J. Murphy for one raceday
