The Stewards interviewed Thomas McGeough, Authorised representative of Declan Wall, trainer, concerning the failure to nominate a rider before the designated time for Filey Bay. Evidence was heard from the trainer's representative who stated that Declan Wall had been hospitalised on Tuesday and Mr F. Maguire, Qualified Rider, had been unable to contact him on that day to confirm the riding arrangement. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards accepted the explanation and took no action. They allowed the request for Mr F. Maguire to ride Filey Bay
