Jett justifies good support in Thurles opener
He deserved that as he had been running in Graded company and in a handicap the last day he fought the whole way and wouldn't drop the bit,. Today when I saw the entries, I knew there'd be good pace and it suited and he jumped super. He'll be much better on better ground and will go 2m5f as well. We have a couple of options and he is in the 2m4f novice handicap at Cheltenham but it depends on whether the handicapper moves him or not. He'd be fine if he didn't move him at all.
Youcantcallherthat calls the tune for Hogan
It was great for the lads (Lostwelton Syndicate) who are great supporters of mine; there are six of them, all from Monivea, and I could hear them cheering on the run-in!. She shouldn't have run at Naas but the lads got a notion and told me to enter her and with the small field, it looked like she could get a bit of black-type but my chance as gone after two fences as she couldn't go with them over the trip. She's a proper staying mare and will probably go for the Graded Mares Chase at Limerick over St Patrick's weekend next. She will be ideal for all those staying handicaps next year too and they'll have plenty more fun with her.
Blackmore gets great tune out of Blow By Blow
The horse ran for Rachael and she is the first one to get a tune out of him this year, so it's great,. He's a big horse and is a Grade 1 winner so has plenty of ability. That's Rachael's first winner for me and she's in one morning a week for the past couple of weeks and the horses run for her so we're lucky to have the likes of herself, Lisa (O'Neill), Nina (Carberry) and Katie (Walsh) as they are a great bunch of girls in Ireland. He might go to Cheltenham for something next - he's in the Martin Pipe, Albert Bartlett and all those races.
Wood outstays rivals in three-miler
That was nice and Denis said he'd like a bit nicer ground and he seemed to enjoy the trip as well,. He's a bumper and maiden hurdle winner now and I'm sure chases will be where his future lies. I'll see what Barry wants to do now but I've no immediate plans for him although I might give him a little rest for a few weeks and see then.
Carno completes Elliott double in style
I was a bit worried about the step up to three miles today but thankfully he stayed going well and did it nicely,. The step up in trip definitely suited him there.
Analyse bounces back to form for Aherne & Ahern
That was as good a chance as he was going to get and it was a race he had a chance in - it was his Gold Cup,. You'd think in Gowran the last day that he was flying going across the top but then he couldn't even jump the last and I'd say it was just a handy race for him today. He has always run respectably and thank god he got there today as he couldn't go any lower in the handicap. He's in the perseverance race on the second day at Cheltenham!
