Team Valor make the right investment with Twomey's Love
She has good entries and is a nice filly but I didn't want to run her in a Stakes race on her second start and she has got physically stronger since her last run,. We picked out this race quite a while ago and we'll feel our way with her and she won't run too many more times this year. She has the options but I don't know where she'll turn up. She'll be a better filly next year and maybe again at five - her mother won a Group 1 when she was four. She should be a Stakes filly whether it is this year or next year I'm not sure. She is the first horse I've run for Team Valor but I've sold them horses in the past - the last one I sold them, Pillar Mountain, is running in a Grade 1 at Saratoga on Saturday.
Joseph O'Brien sends out Killarney apprentice handicap one two
He ran ok the last day when he met a good bit of traffic and he won nicely today and handled the bit of juice in the ground,. He is progressive, is a well bred horse but took a while to mature. I'd imagine we'll step him up in trip and see what happens. He is in at Bellewstown on Wednesday and I'd say there is a fair chance he'll run.
Davids Charm gains deserved big win
I’d imagine he might be hard to beat,.
Mark Walsh wins on 1st ride back from injury
It's great for Mark to get back with a winner and he has been in with me for the past month or so. He was in getting fit and it's great to give him a winner,. This horse has only won three times and the three times have been around here so he likes the place and he won this race last year. He will go to Listowel next for the same race as he slipped up in last year - he would have been better off falling in it as he tried to save himself and gave himself a wrench. It's great to get him back.
Thatbeatsbanagher - it's 2 in a row at Killarney for McManus
He ran well here in the May meeting when finishing fourth and had a nice run over hurdles on his latest run so it worked out grand today,. We'll try and find something similar again. He is very small but jumps like a bird.
McManus Walsh and Bolger dominate at Killarney
It was a confidence booster and we'll head to Listowel now for either one of the novices or the Kerry National. That was just what we really wanted,. In Galway, Darragh (O'Keeffe, jockey) said he jumped the fence perfectly but didn't get out the landing gear. He was on song today. He was second in a Paddy Power at Cheltenham so he knows the hurly-burly and it's not that he is a real novice. I don't know whether or not we'll take the safe option (in Listowel) before putting him into a big one again but they don't get any bigger than a Kerry National. He stays really well and Barry Geraghty, when I spoke to him before the Galway Plate, said to have him up there as he'll get home. He just didn't get the rub of the green in England and on the first day for us. I'll be pointed in the right direction by Mr McManus and Mr Berry!
Double Talkin Jive puts himself in shop window with Killarney win
The owner (Nigel Carolan) has done most of the work with him and he came to us five or six weeks ago. He is a lovely horse, has more speed than a two-mile horse but we thought this time of year the bumpers are not over-strong and the test of stamina is not over-severe,. We're not surprised he won but he still had to do it and I've not won a bumper for a long time. I'm thrilled for the owners and I'd say there is a for-sale sign up now and we don't have a definite plan. He has ran the way he trains which is encouraging, he has plenty size about him and just needed time to come to hand and is getting there now.
