Coakley's on the mark with Table Forty Six
Nidhaam out battles Fanzine
King and Queen make a good team
We nearly gave up on her a long time ago but she has shown gradual improvement. With every run she has improved but I was surprised with how easy she won today. She is very honest and she needs an ease in the ground so I was delighted with the pre-race going description. My mother in-law Nuala Brennan owns her. Connor gave her a great ride and he is very good and sensible rider.
Coolfighter makes it four in-a-row
He did it well. Seamie was disgusted with the ride he gave him the last day but in the end it didn't matter. He is a quirky horse and it is hard at home to keep his head right. We do very little with at home but we've kept him busy. Once the ground is gone he is gone. If it stays dry he will go to Listowel on Wednesday for a mile and a half handicap. He is well handicapped over hurdles too so we will see what happens with him.
Blackie another for Burke & De Bromhead
I'm delighted for Mick (owner Mick Walsh) as he has been very patient. He sent me him as a four-year-old looking to sell him after he won a point-to-point. He did manage to win a point-to-point but he has had to be very patient with him since. He had a splint last year and it caused wicked trouble. He just needed a bit luck to win a race and he will go straight chasing now. Summer staying chases should be ideal for him. He got a lovely ride from Johnny.
De Bromhead doubles up with Pierlow
This fella brought up another double we had in June. I'm delighted for Barry, he has ridden a few for us in the past and rides plenty of work for us, but that his first winner for me although he said he rode a winner for my father before. He gave him a super ride and I haven't seen him travel and jump like that before.
Well-backed Villa takes the last for Hogan
He deserved that. He has gone up in the handicap but he seems to have turned a corner and he is improving. If there is an ease in the ground he might go to Listowel. I'd like to thank Lorcan Wyer (clerk of the course). They have done serious work to get the ground from firm to what it is today (good on the national hunt course). He is a top man at his job.
