Oceania Queen followed up on her good effort last time out at Tramore as she took the Tickincor 3yo Handicap under Connor King for Pat Martin.
The bay daughter of Oratorio put in a decent performance to finish fourth to An Fear Ciuin at Wexford in July before finishing second to Little Stampy on her next start at Tramore.
Having opened at 6/1 this morning she drifted out to 8’s on-course and went off at that price.
Settled behind the leaders on the rail she came between horses with her challenge two furlongs out and soon led.
She was ridden out inside the final furlong and kept on well under pressure, going on to score by two and three parts of a length. Ed Led Jed who was slowly into stride, kept on well to take second under Shane Kelly for John McConnell at 10/1, while Pennys Angel was a further half a length back in third under Leigh Roche for Jim Gorman also at 10/1. Love The Feeling was sent off the 5/2 favourite but she could only manage fourth, a further two and three parts of a length back under Tom Madden for Willie McCreery.
Pat Martin said afterwards: "We nearly gave up on her a long time ago but she has shown gradual improvement. With every run she has improved but I was surprised with how easy she won today.
"She is very honest and she needs an ease in the ground so I was delighted with the pre-race going description.
"My mother in-law Nuala Brennan owns her.
"Connor gave her a great ride and he is very good and sensible rider."
