Approximately a furlong out, Krystallite (GB), unplaced, shifted slightly left causing Jack Mitchell, the rider of Solar Park, placed third, to momentarily ease resulting in Jimmy Quinn, the rider of Nautical Haven (GB), unplaced, to take a pre-cautionary check, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Inside the final furlong, Katherine Place (GB), unplaced, edged right causing interference to the winner, Equally Fast (GB), who in turn caused interference to Cappananty Con (GB), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference approximately ½ furlong out when the winner, Equally Fast (GB), ridden by Kieran O’Neill, interfered with Katherine Place (GB), unplaced, ridden by Eoin Walsh and Requinto Dawn (IRE), placed second, ridden by Tony Hamilton.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Equally Fast (GB)’s placing as Requinto Dawn (IRE) lost little momentum and Equally Fast (GB) always appeared to be holding the gelding with a neck between them at the line.
The interference was found to be accidental as Equally Fast (GB) was hanging left causing O’Neill’s saddle to slip, leaving him with less control of the mount, which resulted in interference to Katherine Place (GB) and Walsh having to take a check as well as Requinto Dawn being taken off its intended line.
Following the race, Kieran O'Neill reported that his saddle on the winner, Equally Fast (GB), slipped and the Veterinary Officer reported that Katherine Place (GB), unplaced, had a wound in its left nostril.
