Late surge helps Rush Queen beat wayward favourite
it was a last minute plan to come but we had made the entry. She ran a blinder on her first run at the Curragh last week and didn't do herself justice. They got racing very early and greeness told but I knew she'd improve a lot. She did it very smartly there — the other horse (runner-up Ashwiyaa) wandered but she stuck her head down and galloped to the line. She is still immature and is a lovely filly. people used say I couldn't train juveniles but I've ran two this year and both have now won. I'm delighted and it's great for this new syndicate (Shamrock Thoroughbreds) which Stephen (Thorne, assistant) set up. This is another breeze-up filly and we've ran and won with two this year.
Carroll bags another Listowel winner
We're delighted to get the winning mark as it is important for her owners and from her breeding, as she has a very good page. She should have won her maiden by now but at least we have got it out of the way. An easy mile or seven furlongs is probably her trip and while she needs something to help her early doors in her races, we will probably discuss taking the blinkers off and putting cheekpieces on next time - that would help her see things out in the latter part of a race. Gary is riding out of his skin and helped her. There is no better man around here and at the same time there is no better man at any track at the minute - he is riding like a man possessed.
First win for Not Just Yet
All his form was on slow or soft ground so we thought the ground might be too quick. He was slowly away but got a good position. I probably got there too soon, he didn't do a whole pile in front but he is nice and done it well. Hopefully now he can step forward now having proven himself on that ground.

Arch Enemy a friend to the bookies at 28/1
That is unexpected as I thought she'd need the run. I think Sean taking the 10lb off was the winning of it and it was a serious ride for a 10lb claimer. They went hard, he came with one run and it was a brilliant ride. Sean rode her once at Dundalk in the past and, while you're under pressure all the time to put up the top lads, Sean has been riding work for me on two-year-olds all year and is a big help. She was dropping back in trip and I knew she'd hit the line well but it's a slight bit of a shock she has won. She was a cheap purchase, has now won four times and is a little star. I'm pretty confident she will win over hurdles too. I'm based in Shercock, Co Cavan, it took four hours yesterday to come down and we stayed over last night. The owner Philip 'Nixys' Clarke owns my local bar in Bailieborough and is a big supporter of mine. I have six or seven in training.
