Stack's Brussels looks smart on debut
She has been going nicely at home. She hasn't been away anywhere but she quickened up well and she did it well,. She has plenty of speed, those Starspangledbanners seem to be quick. I suppose Naas or the Marble Hill would be the logical place to go with her. I have about 30 two-year-olds and they have been running alright so far. We seem to have quite a nice bunch in general. Hopefully there is a couple that might keep us in lights for a little bit!
Shinnick seals first winner on Handsome Maverick
Ruaidhri Tierney (agent) said that this lad (John Shinnick) is very good and that Ger Lyons considers him to be decent. I said 'on your word and on Ger Lyons word I will try him'. It was well worthwhile. He did everything I asked of him which was to get him clear over on the stands' side at all costs because he just won't travel with horses around him. Of course he drifted over closer to the rails in the last 100 yards. He was there where it counted. 33/1 down to 12s - somebody must have backed him, whoever they were!. Please God you'll see him tomorrow week in the Curragh - I think they have a 45-70 over six (furlongs) which will suit him again. I took the blinkers off him today and decided we will see what we have and he did everything we asked of him. I'd be very confident he might go in again because I think he has a bit more ability. He's a half-brother to Ducky Mallon who has won seven (races). The family is decent.

Pink Dogwood starts big season with a victory
She was just ready to start off and you couldn't be happier with her. The plan was always that we would go to the Oaks and whether she will have a run or not before then I'm not sure. It's possible but not definite that she will go straight there. She's a lovely mover, she would prefer better ground I would imagine. She seems lovely. The horses are running respectable so far.
Master Of Reality springs 33/1 shock in Vintage Crop Stakes
He had good form in France and I thought he would need the run. Wayne (Lordan) kept it nice and simple on him because he is an uncomplicated horse. He stays and goes well and is a well-bred horse. He had two ordinary runs for me last year but it is hard swapping mid-season from France to here. We gave him time and I'm delighted for Lloyd and Nick. They sent him to me with a big reputation and it didn't work out last year and they gave us another chance with him. We'll have to train him for a Gold Cup now. He stays and he is going to come on a bit for the run I'd say. We'll see what happens. He's an uncomplicated horse. He had been working well but to be honest I didn't think he was fit enough for his first run, I thought he would come on a bit from it. It is probably testament to his attitude to tough it out.
Double up at Navan for O'Brien and Moore
It has taken him a long time to get it together. Ryan thinks a mile and a quarter is fine for him. He's a big, immature baby even before and after the race today,.
