Fran was excellent, he knows him so we left it to him and it couldn't have worked out better,. Winter ground catches him out but with his age and the bit of national hunt on his side it probably got him through compared to the Flat ones. He probably got there a bit early but the gaps opened up like the red sea and you have to take them when they are there. He's a horse that's had his problems and has been a bit unlucky a few times over hurdles so we might stay on the Flat for the moment but our options are open with hurdles and fences. An extended handicap for three yrs old and upwards (100 = 10st)
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra for each race won Any horse rated above 100 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 10st. Subsequently, the excess over 100 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any three year old rated above 100 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap)
