Court Maid lands the odds in Cork
She showed she was a good mare in Galway; I always thought a lot of her but it just took a while to come. Her form In Killarney then wasn't too bad when the mare who was just in front of her won a black-type race in Gowran. I did put a line through her and Willie's mare (Mullins, Yukon Lil) on the day, whatever happened the two mares they just weren't on the top form. He (David Mullins, today) went on turning in because he didn't want any of the handicappers to fly by him; he said she wasn't jumping as well as everyone thought but she will get better and will be grand. Hopefully she can keep going in mares' hurdles for the year now and we'll see how high we can get her between now and Christmas. These races are a great incentive for new owners in the game with a smaller purse and they are vital for the smaller budget jumps man to stay in the game.

Hackett enjoys slice of luck with The Ballyboys
maybe we were a bit lucky with the other (Naturally Blond) falling but being honest, it has been a tough week at home as we lost Wee Tiger. It has been a tough week to be honest but it was nice to round it off like that. We're looking at having six or seven horses for the winter and this horse will run through the winter and will handle heavy ground, so we're lucky that way. Crackerdancer has been retired through injury and I don't think she has been covered yet. We'd love to have the likes of her again.
Change of scenery does trick for Smithscorner
He is a nice horse; I only got him two months ago from Robert Tyner and he was in good shape coming to me, so he didn't have to improve a whole lot to win one but sometimes a change of scenery can make a difference to a horse. We'll probably go over fences with him as he is a fine big horse and we might also look for another handicap hurdle first. That's my third winner and I have 18 horses in but there are a lot of them young horses, so will have five or six for the track.

Doctor Duffy has right prescription for Byrnes and Barron
He travelled well and loved that ground. I doubt he'll run in another bumper and he has nearly enough done for now with five bumpers runs. He'll stay three miles and while he might get another run, he will be getting a break during the winter.
