Turning into the straight I thought it was going to turn into a bit of sprint so I sent him on. He started pulling himself up in front but when the horse came to him he went on again. The Stewards interviewed B. Browne, rider of Kristian Goingwel, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found B. Browne in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency
Having considered B. Browne's record in this regard the Stewards suspended him for two racedays

An extended handicap steeplechase for five years old and upwards rated 0-102 Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 12st and the minimum weight shall not be less than 9st 12lbs Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap shall carry 5lb extra for each steeplechase won. Riders - Confined to Professional Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules who have not lost the right to claim the allowance under Rule 52 (iii). Allowances - (which are not cumulative, up to and including 13th January) Riders who have not ridden the winners of 25 *races allowed...........4lb Those who have not ridden the winners of 40 *races allowed..........2lb No allowance under Rule 52 (iii) may be claimed *Including races under any N.H.
