I thought that he’d done as much as he was going to do over hurdles. He’s a bit one paced but he jumps very well so that’s why I put him over fences as soon as we did. He did what we thought he would do and he’s certainly going to be better over three miles. I don’t know where he will go next but he’ll stay over fences. Noel Meade, trainer

The Stewards interviewed G.N. Fox, rider of Aasleagh Dawn, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that G.N. Fox was in breach of Regulation 10.4 in that he had failed to give his mount time to respond to the whip. Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended G.N. Fox for 1 raceday.

However hurdle ratings and performances will only be considered after steeplechase ratings and performances.
