The Stewards interviewed Mr P.W. Mullins, rider of Felix Summus, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who felt the second strike did not connect with his mount. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that the second strike did not connect with the horse and his remaining strikes did not leave him in breach of Regulation 10 so they took no further action. Mr. Justice Tony Hunt absented himself from this enquiry
The Stewards interviewed Mr D.N. O'Brien, rider of Our Champ, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he had used his whip excessively and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that Mr. D.N. O'Brien was in breach of R10.3(g)(frequency) and considering his record they suspended him for 2 racedays. Mr. Justice Tony Hunt absented himself from this enquiry

Rules Professional Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules (other than Apprentices) who have not lost the right to claim the 7lb allowance under Rule 52 (iii) (up to and including 11th May) may also ride in this race.
