The Stewards enquired into an incident inside the first furlong involving Adapt To Dan, ridden by J.M. Sheridan, Burning Lake, ridden by S.T. McCullagh and Built For This, ridden by C.D. Hayes, where it appeared that Adapt to Dan and Burning Lake got tight for room on the rails. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. S.T
McCullagh stated that his mount jumped right from stalls and he felt pressure from his outside when he was on the rails. J.M. Sheridan stated that he felt pressure from his inside jumping from stalls, held his line and subsequently felt pressure from his outside. C.D. Hayes stated that his mount jumped awkwardly from stalls, the start was messy in general and he followed Raffaello going forward. While doing so, he heard a shout from the rails and pulled out immediately to give room to the riders on his inside. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the incident was caused by general bunching and they therefore took no further action. Mr. P.N. Reynolds, Acting Steward, absented himself from this enquiry

Keane stated that his mount was picking up and followed Adapt to Dan, received pressure from his outside and eased up thereafter. S.P. Davis stated that he was aware of the riders on his inside and when a suitable gap appeared he took the opportunity to run on. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action. Mr. P.N. Reynolds, Acting Steward, absented himself from this enquiry
