The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Snugsborough Hall, ridden by D.F. O'Regan and trained by Liam P Cusack. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. D.F. O'Regan, stated that his instructions were to settle his mount early on, to get him jumping and to do the best he could. He said he managed to settle his mount towards the rear in a race that was run at a very fast pace and added that his mount jumped deliberate at times and was outpaced at different points throughout the race. He felt the pace momentarily slowed before the turn for home and he was close enough if good enough, but was outpaced again in the closing stages, before having to avoid a faller at the second last which also slowed his momentum. Liam P Cusack, confirmed the instructions given and expressed his satisfaction with the ride. He outlined the difficulties in settling his charge and reported that he wears a hood, both on the racecourse and at home in an attempt to keep him relaxed. He further added that his charge had fallen in a point to point and over hurdles and despite schooling him vigourously at home, he felt his jumping would have to improve. He concluded by stating that he was surprised by the very fast pace of today's race and that having considered all factors, he was happy with the run. Evidence was also heard from Mr. Andrew Shaw, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board National Hunt Handicapper, who outlined the previous form of Snugsborough Hall. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer, who reported that Snugsborough Hall was found to be post race normal, Samples were taken for analysis
Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanation offered
