Cheltenham on agenda for improving Darver Star
I'm not sure where we go after that, but he could potentially go to Cheltenham in November but we'll see how he comes out of that. He could go up to three miles but could also go back in trip as well. You'd have to stick to the novice route for the moment the way he is going. He had a bit of leg trouble before I got him and the owners were very patient with him, thankfully.
Penny Out returns to form with Limerick win
Mr Kiely has been riding her work for the past two weeks and they thought she was working very well at home. He wasn't here today and when I came out to the parade ring they said 'were you talking to him' but I said I got no phone call. They said there is no need, to just jump off in front and thankfully it worked out. She jumped brilliant the whole way and got her way through the ground and handled it. I could feel the other horses coming to me coming down the hill because she was picking up the bridle all the way down to the second last and after I jumped the second last I could see I was well in front. It is great to ride a winner for Mr Kiely — the last time I rode a horse for him was five years ago and it won in the same colours.
New trip sees Listen Dear win decisively in Limerick
Spyglass Hill performs well around Limerick's course
We were going chasing but we thought he was entitled to one more go at a hurdle so it was nice to get it. He was very immature last year and the penny is only now starting to drop with him. I had a concern fitness-wise but he had done plenty work and was pretty straight. Hugh said he got an easy lead in front and the horse really enjoyed it and it all worked well.
Dinons returns to winning ways for Elliott & Russell
I was toying about whether to run him in the Munster National as he had a nice weight in it but I was very concerned about the ground, so I was. It was a great pot so we couldn't leave it behind us. He might go to Cheltenham in two weeks time; he won there last year so there is every chance he goes there next. He'll get his ground there and will be a nice horse for handicap chases next year.
