The Raceday Stewards interviewed Miss E. Cody, rider of Fancy A Cosmo, concerning her use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Miss. E. Cody accepted that she was in breach of Regulation 10 and apologised for her actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Miss. E. Cody was in breach of both Regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and Regulation 10.3(i)(time to respond) and considering her record in this regard they suspended her for five racedays.
An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards (116 = 12st) Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each hurdle race won. The IHRB have suspended the relevant parts of Rule 135 for the purposes of this race.
