An enquiry was held following a report from Tom Cannon, the rider of Karastani (GB), unplaced, that his horse struck a section of running rail shortly after jumping the third hurdle when turning up the hill, which appeared to be dislodged.
Tom Cannon and the Clerk of the Course were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident after which the Stewards forwarded a report to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority for further consideration.
The winner, Power Home (IRE), appeared to show an improvement in form compared with its previous run at Chepstow on 25 March 2021 where the mare finished third of fourteen, beaten by 22 ½ lengths.
Denis Coakley’s explanation that Power Home (IRE) benefited from the drop in class on this occasion, was noted.
The mare was routine tested.
Following the race, Kevin Brogan reported that Keepscalling (IRE), placed eighth, hung right-handed throughout.
