The Stewards enquired into the circumstances surrounding the start of this race where Ballygill Princcess, ridden by M.P.Fogarty and Gabriel Brandy, ridden by J.B.Kane stood at the start. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned and also from Mr. J.R.Banahan, Senior Starter, who was satisfied that the start was fair. Having considered all the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that no starter error had occurred and took no further action. A. Ring, rider of Mr Bien trained by David Peter Dunne, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled and was pulled up.
An extended handicap hurdle for four yrs old and upwards rated 80-95 Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap to carry 6lb extra for each hurdle race won.
