He had loads of graded form so I suppose we'd have been disappointed if he did anything less but the way he did it so smoothly was impressive. I was hoping he’d put in a clear round and he did it well. He’s not been the easiest to train and had an infection in his foot. We could look at races like the Florida Pearl and the three-mile at Christmas.

Home wins sixth race at age of 13

I was giving out to myself watching him going around that I didn't put cheekpieces on him today,. I thought he wasn't grabbing the bridle for Phillip but he said every time he saw a fence he went down to it. After that run I'll have to run him again somewhere. Everyday you go racing with the likes of him you are saying that this is probably his last run. I said to Phillip going out today that I'd be happy if he was placed. He's a very consistent horse, that's his sixth win and he's been placed 10 times. He's a good genuine horse and he keeps covering the diesel money!

He gave her a great ride. She's free and I told him to try and save a bit that you'll be able to give her a breather at some stage. . Her jumping was unreal. She won a point-to-point and any of them that win a point-to-point can jump. . Shane has done a lot of work with her at home because she's not an easy ride so fair play to him. . The owners are from Mayo, as you can see by the jerseys and colours, and it's the first horse they've ever had. They are absolutely thrilled. 

Cecil rallies to grab narrow victory

It was a very tough effort by him and a great ride by Carl,. He's three from four now with the cheekpieces on and they are definitely helping him. Getting his head in front in the first claimer really helped him and he's enjoying it a lot more now. He was passed up the run-in but battled back, it was a very brave effort. He'll stay going now as long as the ground doesn't get too heavy.

We're very happy with him and we were confident coming here,. The English handicapper gave him 8lb last week going to Perth, he's only small and the ground turned too soft for him. . It worked out ideal as Sean Bowen didn't kill him and we had this in the back of our minds for him. . He's a tough little horse and there is a race at the end of the month in Wexford for him, left-handed. He does hang badly and Kieren was good and strong on him, so hopefully he'll be better going left-handed as well. . He's funny, he can boil over. We brought him into the ring late as he boiled over in Kilbeggan but still finished fifth and ran a great race. He's a funny little horse and you have to mind him a bit.

He was very green in Galway and probably showed a bit of greenness again there but Derek said he was as strong at the line as he was anywhere up the straight.
