Must Meet Cecil proved very game when rallying late on to land the spoils in the two-mile handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse.

Having disputed early Carl Millar sat on the girth of front-runner Mr Sundancer for most of the trip on his mount before taking it up turning for home.

Cian Collins' charge got the last wrong and it looked like The Dasher Conway had swooped to score on the run-in, coming to gain a narrow lead.

Must Meet Cecil found more close home though and got up by a head at the line to score at 7/1.

“It was a very tough effort by him and a great ride by Carl,” said Collins.

“He's three from four now with the cheekpieces on and they are definitely helping him.

“Getting his head in front in the first claimer really helped him and he's enjoying it a lot more now.

“He was passed up the run-in but battled back, it was a very brave effort.

“He'll stay going now as long as the ground doesn't get too heavy.”
