Aydoun gets Weld off the mark
He had a very good run the first day when he won, but I suppose he just fell apart a bit then. The hurdles seem to bring out the best in him, and he likes that soft ground as well. . There is plenty of novices between now and Christmas and I think he will really handle soft ground so we'll see how Mr Weld places him.
Ballyegan the feature race Hero
He had a low weight and stays well. I'm a bit surprised as I thought he might get a place. Rachael gave him a cracking ride, and the rain may have helped as it made the ground a bit looser. I thought he was beaten from where I was standing. That's probably my biggest win in terms of prize money. I've won plenty of big races in the past like the Kerry National, the Troytown, and the Munster National a few times.
Amedeo Modigliani gets the job done
Breath digs Deep under Smullen
It's better to win by a neck than be beaten a neck! Pat said that she is a very genuine filly. That's as slow as she wants it. She wants better ground and I think she is a filly that may improve with age. Her heart got her there.
Evergreen Bubbly records 18th win
He'd lost his form a bit this year. He'd a bit of a problem with his back and we gave him a break. He had a couple of good runs on fast ground but he loves a bit of a dig in it, and I was praying that he would get in today. He's been a brilliant horse for me all through his career. He's won on the Curragh two years on the trot, he's won a Rockingham and three Premier Handicaps. People were saying I should retire him but I knew there was another day in him. I'm thrilled to bits for him and he's one of my favourite horses ever. He's in again at the Curragh on Monday, and is a horse that takes his races well. He'll have a spin on the beach and we might declare him.
Athenry springs a surprise for Gorman
He's been unlucky on a number of occasions and has been second and third a few times. I'm delighted for his owner Paddy Reilly. He's been here all week but as he was only second reserve he went back to Dublin to go to the match (in Croke Park). Wayne did well from the draw to get him up there and gave him a great ride. He battled really well.
True Self makes it nine for Mullins
She looks a real nice mare, and Patrick thinks she could go back on the Flat and win. It's the owners first horse with us and she looks a nice one.
