True Self makes it nine for Mullins Willie Mullins recorded his ninth success of the Galway Festival, as his True Self ran out an easy winner of the concluding Galway Shopping Centre Irish EBF Mares Flat Race. Beaten a head into second on her debut at Warwick last December, the daughter of Oscar since joined Mullins and was bought by the Three Mile House Partnership. Available at 10/11 this morning, she eventually went off the clear 4/7 favourite with Patrick Mullins in the saddle. Settled behind the leaders she hit the front over two furlongs out and stretched clear inside the final furlong, going on to score easily by eight lengths. Newcomer Kilbarry Way finished second at 25/1 under Johnny Barry for Con O'Keeffe, while Masons Daughter was another two lengths away in third for Tom Hamilton and Philip O'Connor. Willie Mullins said afterwards: "She looks a real nice mare, and Patrick thinks she could go back on the Flat and win. It's the owners first horse with us and she looks a nice one. Patrick Mullins added: "That's what she has been showing us at home. Paul Byrne picked her out at the sales and she didn't cost too much." STEWARDS REPORT The Stewards fined Paul W. Flynn, trainer, E350 for lodging a passport in respect of Bee A Beneficiary, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order. Additional reporting by Alan Magee
