The Stewards requested a report from Patrick J.Flynn, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Buttons And Bows, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Eoin Norris, Authorised Representative for the trainer, reported that Buttons and Bows' previous runs were over shorter trips and at a time when their horses were out of form. Eoin Norris further added that their horses have been coming back into form lately, as shown in Tramore by Buttons and Bows, and today's longer trip and better ground, along with a good jumping performance, helped his charge today and may have helped to bring about the improvement in form. An extended handicap steeplechase for four years old and upwards rated 0-109 Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 12st and the minimum weight shall not be less than 9st 12lbs Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap shall carry 5lb extra for each steeplechase won.
