Lightnening makes mark in opener
It's great to get it right in the end. I was probably running him over the wrong distances early on as he has a lot of toe,. He's a half-brother to Debussyso is bred to be able to run a bit. He's a horse that goes on fast ground so hopefully will be ok after that. We'll see if Lightening can strike in two places and come back again. There is a rated race for him next Wednesday and I'll try and freshen him up. He had a few little problems in the spring and that's why he was running in the autumn. He have him fairly right now. I was a tiny bit disappointed with his run last time but when I got home I realised they had broke the track record and it was in fact a hell of a run. He was a tiny bit fresh today. Because of the snow he missed his last blow out but it did him no harm. He's only getting warmed up now and hopefully he'll be a nice horse for next year.
Maundays makes all
She's a grand filly. She was very green in front. She was looking at everything and changing her legs,. There should be a nice bit of improvement in her for next season. She's out of a Sadler's Wells mare so should get a trip. I'm glad they raced anyway!
Street makes early start worthwhile for Browne
He always runs well and is a honest sort. His only bad run was here last time and there was a good reason for that,. There was a lot of hassle this morning to get here. I was up at 3.30am and left at 4.20am. This was his last chance to win one. I could take him to Wolverhampton now.
Peak hits form to give Carr welcome winner
It's good to get off the cold list! I had a winner point-to-pointing the other day but that's my first on the track since Benash won at Fairyhouse on Easter Tuesday,. This lad ran well mid summer but lost his form and dropped a few pounds. Conor's 7lb was a big help. I'll try and run him once more before the season is over and then he'll go back jumping. He was entered in a maiden hurdle at Musselburgh on Monday but that was called off. He wasn't meant to come here at all.
Principle proves brave for Smullen
McDonogh shines on Gargano
He loves to bowl along in front and it was a great ride. He didn't go too quick on him after all!. He's in a 1m2f conditions race here on Wednesday and will come back for that.
Bridge shows true colours
.He just doesn't like soft ground. This is probably his trip and things went his own way,. He's in again tomorrow over seven furlongs and I'll see how he is. I might run - there is not a lot to lose by running. I'll wait till next summer with him to go back over hurdles.
Carroll edges ahead after claiming finale
We were waiting to run at Fairyhouse in the juvenile hurdle as he's a great jumper,. But this meeting came up so we decided to come as we didn't know if Fairyhouse would go ahead or not. We couldn't gallop him at home, only hacking and cantering, so we thought at least we could get a good blow into him here. He's an improving horse and is getting stronger. He stays so well and jumps well too. He likes the game and has a good attitude. He'll be a nice horse for next year. We'll look for a hurdle for him and he should handle a cut. We didn't rush him earlier in the year as he was growing and that's why we waited for Dundalk.
