Lyons breaks new ground with exciting juvenile
That’s huge for us. It’s the second runner for them. I did something last night which I wouldn’t normally do as I rang Colin Keane at half eleven and said am I doing the right thing tomorrow and he said relax boss she’s grand!. I was just worried about the ground being too quick. She’s a filly we like and obviously she’s going to want seven and a bit further. We had her in the race last night but we knew the filly we ran in that race (Queen Medb, finished second) couldn’t handle six so that’s why we divided them. I just wanted a nice introduction on nice ground on a straight track and win her maiden next time. She hit the line strong and ran right down to the boards. There should be huge improvement in her going forward. I’ve been training 25 years and to have those colours winning for us is a proud day. Ultimately I’m always thinking Stakes races but she’ll tell me and it will be baby steps.

I'm So Fancy has another Curragh Listed Celebration
She won very well here the last time and I was taking a little bit of a chance dropping her back to a mile. She had been running very well over a mile last year. They went very hard up front which suited her. She’s improving all the time and aged four she’s come to life. She’s in the Group 2 Kilboy (Estate) Stakes here (on July 22) over a mile and a quarter so we’ll see how she comes out of this.
Petticoat has her rivals covered at the Curragh
She’s a big scopey filly with a wonderful attitude. She had a lovely first run back here on Guineas weekend and we had this race in mind for a while. We’ll try and get some black type with her now, and she’ll probably go to Killarney (Cairn Rouge Stakes on July 15) now. She’s very straight forward, loves that ground and hopefully she will go on to better things. William gave her a lovely ride and just built it up gradually so all went to plan.

O'Brien brothers take historic Derby with Latrobe
I have to thank everyone in the yard, especially Joey Fallon, who rides him out, and Lloyd and Nick (Williams) have been so good to me. I’m so grateful and lucky. We always loved him and bought him as a yearling in Newmarket. From day one we loved him and he never really let us down. Everything myself and Donnacha learned has been from dad and mum, and we are so lucky to have been brought up in Ballydoyle. I don’t think Donnacha and I have ever actually fallen out. We’ve had disagreements but we’ve never fallen out. Myself, Donnacha, Sarah and Ana all get on very well together. We are all very competitive with each other and against each other but I’m as happy when they win as they would be when I win. Life is too short to be falling out over trivial things like sport. There are so many variables that can happen during a race that a jockey has to be able to make up his own mind. There is no doubt that Donnacha is riding well and it was his move that won the race.
