Advanced Virgo works out science of hurdling
He's a lovely horse. It probably wasn't the best maiden hurdle. He had a nice run in Wexford and was probably a bit unlucky that day. He had a nice enough comeback run and the form of the race in Killarney had been working out. As regards a maiden hurdle for Navan, it probably wasn't the hottest but he's a nice horse. He'll probably go handicapping now and he'll definitely get further as he got two miles on the Flat.
Punters Callthebarman to toast success
He deserved that, he had been running well,. I got teased into running him back too soon a couple of times but I gave him a chance there on the good ground. He'll stay two-and-a-half but I said on a track like this, over two miles, we'd make a bit of use of him. He's ground dependent, so we'll see. It's the end of September but Political Policy won in December last year and he's a proper, good-ground horse.
Theatre World a poignant winner for Monroe family
It seems to be suiting front-runners today. It's the best he ever travelled, he was just a happy horse today,. Luke gave him a great ride and got the fractions right in front. He just enjoyed it all the way, the ground is good and he stacked them all up behind him and had another go. He's a very consistent horse but hadn't travelled very well in his races and that's what has let him down, but today he travelled great and he'll be a lovely horse over a fence. It's great to have a winner at Navan at the start of the season. I'd say he wants a bit of nice ground, he mightn't go on heavy ground but we could get well into the start of October to mid-November before it changes too much. I'd definitely keep him going when he's in that sort of form. It's great for the Monroes. Rob Monroe is here, his father John died in the summer and he bought this horse. There are loads of memories attached to him. He's after getting off the phone to his mother and she's crying at home. A horse like that keeps the memories going.
Duffy does the business at Navan
The horse deserved that as he's fierce consistent,. The galloping track here suited him. The horse doesn't know how to run a bad race. He might go to the first meeting in Cheltenham in October. There is a novice there over two-mile-six. If he doesn't go there he could go to the November meeting, he might as well go before the real good ones come out!. He got his jumping together, it took three or four runs for that to come. He had to keep him off the rail because he's liable to duck out as well. That's why he rode him down the middle between horses. He is what he is, 134, and he's a fierce consistent horse.
Rose shines on chase debut
The Big Lense brings up Dempsey's double
He was a disappointing horse but he's starting to go the right way now. Hopefully he's on a winning curve and he might keep going. He didn't mind the ground, he seemed to like it okay. It's good ground but the boys say it's safe.
Gold Speed shows plenty of dash in Navan
He was very good. We've always thought plenty of this fella. He had a couple of setbacks but he needed all the time he got. He's a big leggy horse, he's six-year-old now and I'd say he's still strengthening up. He's not the full horse yet. He had a lovely run in Listowel. We gave him plenty of time. He'll go for a maiden hurdle now. Win, lose or draw today he was going to go hurdling. We'll enter him up in a month's time all going well, if he's okay. He loved that kind of ground. I wouldn't like to run him on real heavy winter ground, not yet anyway.
