The Stewards interviewed Mr L. Quinlan, rider of Allied Victory, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg. 10.3.(b) (chance gone) (f)(frequency) and Reg.10.4.(time to respond) and having taken his record into account suspended him for six race days and ordered the rider to attend RACE for 1 day's instruction in the correct use of the whip
The Stewards received a report from Mr. P.L. Malone , Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that D.P. Holden, rider of Loch Luatha, weighed in at 1.2 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that he weighed-in overweight due to having a drink after weighing out
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that D.P. Holden was in breach of Rule 231 (iii) and having taken his record into account, they cautioned the rider.
An extended handicap steeplechase for five yrs old and upwards rated 0-109 Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap to carry 4lb extra for each such steeplechase won.
