Upon inspection, the Veterinary Officer reported that Great Bear (GB) was a colt and not a gelding as published in the racecard.
Permission was given for Live Your Dream (IRE) to wear a hood in the Parade Ring only; for Mancini (GB) to wear a red hood to the start and for Themaxwecan (IRE) to be mounted in the chute and to go early to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final 1½ furlongs involving the winner, Turnpike Trip (GB), ridden by John Egan and Live Your Dream (IRE), placed second, ridden by Pat Cosgrave.
Egan was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift left without sufficient correction, causing Live Your Dream (IRE) to be carried notably off its intended line.
