An enquiry was held to consider interference after jumping the final fence when the winner, Regal Blue (IRE), ridden by Nick Scholfield interfered with The Changing Man (IRE), placed second, ridden by Brendan Powell.
Scholfield was cautioned for careless riding as he failed to take sufficient steps to prevent his mount from drifting right-handed, taking Powell slightly off his intended line.
Approaching the second last fence, the winner Regal Blue (IRE), moved quickly right-handed away from the whip taking The Changing Man (IRE), placed second, off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Regal Blue (IRE).
Following the race, Keith Donoghue reported that Evies Vladimir (IRE), which was pulled up, never travelled.
The Veterinary Officer examined Evies Vladimir (IRE) post-race and reported that the gelding lost its left-hind shoe.
Chris Ward reported that Hauraki Gulf (GB), placed fourth, jumped poorly.
