Crafty Prendergast scores with Codger
the boss is delighted - he's not a big horse but is a great jumper. He's probably one of the highest rated of these on the Flat and had schooled very well. Adrian has been up to jump him a few times and he also seems to like that soft ground.
Plinth 'a fortunate winner' of 3 runner hurdle
he (Plinth) was stopping coming up the run-in and might have been a fortunate winner as I thought the mare (Mireya) could have beaten me. I got a run on her into the straight but I could feel her coming to me on the run to the last. Fortunately for me she fell, although I don't like seeing any horse fall. We didn't go too quick and I was probably in front too soon but I wanted to use his pace. Johnny (Burker, rider of Goonyella) was coming back at me but my lad wasn't doing much in front on his own.He wouldn't go on winter ground and that might be it to the spring now.
Drinmore next up for Valseur Lido
two-and-a-half miles was no problem to him and we'll probably have a look at the Drinmore now. Bryan (Cooper) was very happy with him so I'm happy.
Kashline scores for Bowe/Power
Bertolini ties McCann's 1st to Brady's last win
it's great that he was Oliver's last winner and my first. It's good for Rita Shah (owner), especially given the support she gives the yard and it's down to the whole team, not just me, including the young lad who led him up. We have 23 horses but plenty of room for more! Hopefully we can keep improving. We have a couple of nice horses for the winter like One Cool Shabra and a nice horse that Rita bought out of John Oxx's called Wrap Star.
Rory leads home Bolger 1-2 in banks' race
Powerful display from 'exciting' Alpha male
he'll make into a nice horse but is still a baby. He took his time to quicken but when he did, he did it well. The penny has to drop with him yet though. He'll keep me going for next season but I've no plans with him although he's an exciting one to have.
Wildebeest upsets odds-on fav' in bumper
Paul (Carberry) was very happy with his run last time, when he met an awful lot of trouble, and thought he might win a bumper. That's why we decided to come back and try one. He's probably a nice horse, has got a good pedigree and is a lovely big horse. We'll give him a month or so and go for a maiden hurdle. He definitely won't run in a bumper again. Nina said Patrick (Mullins, rider of Master Of Verse) was going so well she let him go a bit and then came with another run. Once Patrick's horse came off it she had him beaten.
