The Raceday privilege request in relation to Jack Darcy (IRE), trained by Paul and Oliver Cole, was not submitted Paul and Oliver Cole were warned as to their responsibility to ensure that all Raceday privilege requests are submitted before 1pm on the day before racing.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference from 1 ½ furlongs out involving the winner, Oneforthegutter (GB), ridden by Ben Curtis and La Yakel (GB), placed second, ridden by Jim Crowley.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Oneforthegutter (GB)’s placing as although the gelding was shifting right-handed, taking La Yakel (GB) gradually off its intended line, with the latter losing no momentum.
It appeared that from approximately ½ furlong out, Oneforthegutter (GB) headed La Yakel (GB) and was pulling away to win by an increasing neck.
Curtis was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right-handed without sufficient correction taking La Yakel (GB) off its intended racing line.
Following the race, Hector Crouch reported that Jack Darcy (IRE), placed fifth, ran too freely.
