Pink Socks makes the breakthrough for Doyle & Hayes
She had a good campaign last year but we didn’t win with her. Amy Jo was second on her three times last year and she runs well for her. . They went good and fast and she was able to sit in and they came back a little bit to her. She’s a smashing filly and is stronger this year. . It’s great to get a winning bracket with her, a homebred filly. . She goes on any ground; she’ll go on quick ground as well, so we’ll tip away for the summer and maybe hurdling as well as she jumps well.
Nostringsattached continues on an upward curve
We were slightly worried about the drying ground. She’s built like a tank and she means a lot to us and the Brownes. We are building up towards black type and I didn’t want to ruin her. I think she’s way stronger this year and can keep improving. Robbie said she pulls up in front and only does what she has to do. She’d probably prefer a more galloping track. She’s in the Group 3 Munster Oaks in Cork and if we got a bit of rain we might go there as we are building up to a mile and a half as well. We could also look at France and plan towards autumn and soft ground. I think she’ll stay any trip. She’s settling well and Robbie gave her a lovely ride.
Fleur De Chine continues progress with Gowran Classic win
She’s stayed every yard of that and will probably step up to a mile and a half,. I declared the two because we wanted good ground for the other fella (Kinesiology) and she’ll go on the softer ground. I’m not sure what happened at the Curragh (on her reappearance) and Shane thought she’d gone wrong. She was very good in Limerick and then we thought she could come here if there was some ease in the ground. A little bit of ease is probably important. She’s not very big but has a great attitude which is the main thing. Shane gave her a great ride. It’s a nice pot to win and wherever she goes now it will be about black type.
Success Days off the mark as a sire
We were a bit perplexed at Limerick as we were expecting him to come forward a good bit from his first run at Leopardstown which was on heavy ground, but it just didn’t happen. . His work has been consistent all spring and he was working like a maiden winner. Billy said he’s still a work in progress and was a bit lairy in front but he can gallop. . It took him a while to pull up which is usually a good sign. He could go a mile and a half. He was Success Days’ first runner and his first winner. Like father like son, he won his maiden here as a two-year-old.

Coleman lauds Keane after La Juliana lands Gowran finale
There was a lot of ground to make up and he never panicked. I’d say she loved it and got a bit of confidence. . Her two last runs were in Cork and I’d say the track was a bit quick for her. She seemed to like it today. She’s grand at that level and I knew she’d win one race like that. It’s a low level but they are all appreciated. She’s genuine. . It was a great ride and it’s always a help to have that man on board.
