Walsh, placed third, Cahirdown Boy, ridden by R.P. Treacy, faller, and Happie Days, ridden by D.J. O'Keeffe, placed second, where it appeared that top of the Charts ran short of room and had to check off heels. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found R. P. Treacy in breach of Rule 214, in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered R. P
Treacy's record in this regard the Stewards suspended R. P. Treacy for one raceday. Furthermore the Stewards found E. Walsh in breach of Rule 272(ii), in that he had supplied misleading information at a Stewards' enquiry
Having considered E. Walsh's record in this regard the Stewards cautioned him on this occasion.
