The Stewards viewed recordings of an incident approaching the final hurdle where the winner, Zestful Hope (FR), hung left-handed despite its rider’s best efforts to correct the gelding, at the same time as KAYF TOI, placed second, moved exaggeratedly right-handed after being corrected by its rider, causing the two horses to make severe contact.
Having reviewed the footage, the Stewards were satisfied that no riding offence had occurred, that the interference was accidental and that it had not affected either horses finishing position.
Following the race, Alex Edwards reported that Perryville (IRE), which started joint-favourite and finished third, hung right-handed on the final circuit.
