Condon's Romanised looks smart
We liked him at home but they have to come and do it. He has been working right from the start but I suppose he has only been on the grass once. Shane (Foley) said he missed the break a little bit but he was happy to do that. He was able to follow some principals. He travels through a race like a good horse. He has the ability if we just keep his mind right. He could be a Coventry Stakes horse. He'll be entered in the Norfolk as well and I suppose maybe the Marble Hill. There was a lot of chat about a lot of horses in that race. I'd say it was a very good maiden. Put it this way it's not a surprise as we do like him. With the man that owns him, he's not going to be sold. It's nice to have a horse like him. He has a good pedigree and has a big future I hope. He has a nice relaxed way of doing things and he seems to stay as well.
Crosse making the most of his opportunities
We're delighted with that. That was the plan, we had a nice draw. Billy (Lee) couldn't do the weight so I says Nathan is there all summer and comes in every Saturday. He makes the effort to come up from Tipperary and is a grand young fella. She's a pretty straightforward filly to ride so I says I'll take the punt and throw him on. You have to give a young lad a chance. He's putting in the effort so he'll get a chance. She's a tough, hardy, little mare. By the end of the year we'll try and get a bit of black-type. She'll go to the sales at the end of the year. We'll keep going around a stiff five. She's pretty ground versatile.

Pillar makes breakthrough under 'hot' Keane
He was overdue a win. He has been running very consistently even up in Dundalk. He loves quick ground. We'll tip away with him. This is Sean's (Gallagher, owner) local track and he loves getting a winner here so it's great for him. Hopefully the handicapper won't be too hard on him. When we got him first we thought he was a miler. He's very fast and it was really only when we saw his speed that we started dropping him back. A stiff five or six is what he really wants. When he runs in sprints he gets very hot so it's hard to get him to settle over longer trips.

Winners galore for Lightening Keane
It's nice, we trained the dam (Lightening Pearl). We thought last year that he was that type of horse and Colin rode him in Naas and said to bring him back to a mile. He has pace for the mile and better ground and then this race just fell. It's nice to win your maiden before you do things like this but with the prize money on offer today (29,500 to the winner) you are breaking your maiden for that prize money. It's not to be sniffed at. The race just cut up nicely for him. A mile and a quarter he'll get. He loves the good ground. Anywhere between eight and ten furlongs we'll be campaigning him and we hope he progresses into a Listed-type horse for the dam. I think he has to improve significantly to do that. Everything just fell right for us today but it's nice to be able to cash in.
