Leaving the stalls, Puchita (IRE), placed third, jumped right at the same time as Cotubanama (GB), placed fifth, jumped left, causing Hi Ho Silver (GB), unplaced, to be tightened for room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placings of Puchita (IRE) and Cotubanama (GB).
The performance of Hi Ho Silver (GB) which started favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.
Chris Wall's explanation that the gelding suffered interference leaving the stalls and was unsuited by racing in rear was noted; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Following the race, Luke Catton reported that Quixote (GER), placed eighth, was slowly away and hung badly right-handed.
