There's hardly a race for her in Galway next week - she'd be out of the handicap. The handicaps are too good. Sligo the following week would be a possibility. The Stewards enquired into the falls of Dream Point, ridden by D. O'Brien and Brass Button, ridden by A. Persse, on the bend leaving the back straight. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned who both stated that the track was presented in very good condition but their respective mounts were racing wide at that bend when they lost their hind legs for no apparent reason. A. Persse added that he was unable to keep his balance and got unseated
Having considered the evidence and viewed a recording of the race, the Stewards noted their comments
The Stewards requested a report from Michael Mulvany, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Stormy Tale, placed first, as compared with its recent run at Navan. Michael Mulvany reported that he was disappointed with his charges run at Navan and felt that the only explanation that he could suggest related to his charge being unsuited by the ground conditions at Navan, officially described as being good to firm and firm in places whereas today's easier underfoot conditions allowed her to let herself down. He added that his filly had also shown better form in tighter tracks. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report
Ms. Sheila Lavery, trainer of Danehill Quest, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her charge lost a front shoe during this race.
