The Stewards interviewed D.J. O'Keeffe, rider of Island Master, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg.10 3.(f) by using his whip with excessive frequency and having taken his previous record into account, cautioned the rider

D.N. Russell, rider of Bellgrove trained by P.M. Cloke, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a bad mistake down the back
