An enquiry was held to consider the placings following an objection from Tom Scudamore, the rider of Pachacuti (IRE), placed second, to the winner, Zestful Hope (FR), ridden by Lilly Pinchin, on the grounds of 2 incidents of interference from approaching the final hurdle.
The Stewards considered that the first incident of interference before the final hurdle was accidental and had not improved Zestful Hope (FR)’s placing as the gelding shifted left-handed away from the whip, carrying Pachacuti (IRE) off its intended line, before being corrected.
The Stewards considered that the second incident of interference had not improved Zestful Hope (FR)’s placing and Pinchin was cautioned for careless riding as she continued on a line without taking regard for the rail alignment on her outside which came in causing Scudamore, who was approximately a length behind, to switch right-handed.
As a result, Scudamore lost little momentum to be beaten ¾ length at the line.
