The Stewards received a report from Mr. H.T. Hynes, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that G.P. Halpin, rider of Massa Lubrens, had weighed in at 1.3 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that this was the case. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that G.P. Halpin was in breach of Rule 231(iii) and having considered his record they suspended him for 3 racedays
The Stewards requested a report from J. S. Bolger, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Solar Wave, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Ger Flynn, authorised representative for the trainer reported that his charge broke well today which allowed her to hold her position and further added that she appeared to appreciate the ground conditions. Having considered the report, the Stewards accepted the explanation offered
