Piri makes successful debut for Lyons

He is a lovely horse. We bought him from Mark Dwyer. He has had shore shins and we gelded him. It didn't look like he would get to the racecourse this year but he had been coming to hand in the last six weeks. If we had finished in the first three it would have done me, especially with an 85 rated horse (Srucahan) in the race, but I knew if he ran to his mark he would go close. He has a mile written all over him but I though we would try him over six furlongs tonight.

Weasel springs a 16/1 surprise

His owner Mrs Carol Roper loves this horse to pieces and she persevered with him. He loves the surface here and has been running some good races but the blinkers probably sharpened him up tonight. He got a lovely run. He has always been a hard horse to win with and we'll probably come back here again next Friday for a handicap over seven furlongs.

Mr Red Clubs puts Murtagh back three in front

He might run again on Sunday but then again he might be claimed in ten minutes! . He will win a few more races and could even sneak a Nursery. Johnny (Murtagh) fancied him tonight.

She has always been a good filly. She was in the Moyglare but she kept growing so we took her out, she has been very immature. She is nicely bred and could possibly be better on grass from a mile to a mile and a quarter next year.

He won his 2yo race at Galway and he has been so consistent since the handicapper has never dropped him. He runs well on this surface. I am delight to help Johnny out (in his quest for the Jockeys Title). That's probably Johnny's last winner for me this season.
